Cascade Lakes to Long Lake

Post by MtnRunner »

Friday, May 30th

Made a run up to Cascade Lakes in Soda Springs. From there, a 2-mile
round trip hike to Long Lake and back. This just never gets old.

Are there any decent spots to camp at Long Lake? Could be a good place to take little kids backpacking. What condition was the road into Cascade Lake?

Hey Phil,
There's a couple of spots, one nice one in particular that a young couple had set up. I didn't want to disturb them, but in hiking around where they were at, it looked like they had the best spot on the lake. The hike there from Cascade Lakes was a piece of cake.
The road in was fairly good. I had to go through about a dozen large residual pools from snowmelt, but besides that, no problem in my 4Runner.
