Cyclamen lake pass

Post by ECB »

Planning a backpack in mineral king this summer. I plan to home from spring lake to big five lakes, crossing cyclamen lakes pass. I've never gone across this route and looking for beta. I have some cross country experience.
I'm hoping someone has gone this way before and can provide some info on this pass.
Thanks

I have done hands and knees pass a few times the Spring lake side is harder, maybe class 3 but very short class 3.

Likely the word "hike" autocorrected after a typo.

I went over Cyclamen Lake Pass in 1990. A trip report with photos is at: http://www.sierrahiker.com/FiveLakes1990/index.html
Back in the 90's, the rangers called the pass "Hands and Knees" but I don't remember any sections that were difficult. I approached the pass down from Columbine Lake instead of up from Spring Lake.
