2025 HST Meetup

A forum to initiate member meet-up. Looking for a hiking/climbing/fishing/skiing/etc. partner, or are you planning a trip where you wouldn't mind having some company? Last minute invites can be just as fun as a well-planned group trip (sometimes even better) so don't be shy! And be sure to post a trip report to the appropriate forum when you get back.

I had the most ambitious route planned for this. It was going to be 9 days of deep Kings Canyon exploration, hitting up many places I've never been. I had a whole training plan in place to make it happen in the most fun way possible.

Alas, I won't be able to attend this year due this damn fire, and I'll be pretty sad about it to be honest.

Hope to see all of you this year. I will bring my girl Indigo since she is now a full service dog and can accompany me on all future adventures (where the water crossings aren't too sketchy).

I've been dreaming of returning to the Sierra for a years now, and by summer I will be off the chems that according to my doctors were necessary to stay alive. Those meds were not kind to my body, but once I get back into the mountains and get to eat freeze dried food again, everything should slowly swing back to normal.

The October date gives me some time to work on getting strong again. I can't wait.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but dogs aren't allowed in the backcountry of Kings Canyon National Park.

I have it on my calendar! We will see maybe finally rebuilding my house around then!
