2024 HST Meetup

A forum to initiate member meet-up. Looking for a hiking/climbing/fishing/skiing/etc. partner, or are you planning a trip where you wouldn't mind having some company? Last minute invites can be just as fun as a well-planned group trip (sometimes even better) so don't be shy! And be sure to post a trip report to the appropriate forum when you get back.

Beautiful photos schmalz, SirBC, Harlen, BardoPond!

It was a pleasure meeting everyone at the meetup and also reconnecting with Maverick and Richlong. Sorry to have missed those who were unable to attend, hopefully next time. Thanks to Maverick for not just organizing this meetup but for creating a supportive environment where we could all share experiences and learn from each other.

I’m still working on my TR and hope to have it completed soon!

I too was glad to finally make a Meet-Up. Sorry I missed the early arrivals. I also appreciated going over "Feather Lite" with those who had done it before. After Marium Lk I went up to French Lake, then to Royce Lakes. It was a frigid wind-tunnel so I dropped back down and camped just below Granite Park, fished all the upper ponds in the afternoon, and next morning went back up to take photos and explore before dropping to Pine Lake where I caught more fish. I went out next AM, to Bishop to pick up my Piute Pass permit, washed my hair in the Ranger Station sink, charged my camera battery in their plug-in while they closed the office for lunch, and camped at North Lake. Bishop was hot as hell and the air was terrible! I got a nice early start. The weather was unsettled. First night at Packsaddle Lake (afternoon rain), second at Muriel Lake (afternoon rain), third night at Humphreys Lakes (no rain), and fourth night at Piute Lake with day-hike to Emmerson Lake. Next AM I walked out and drove home so as not to miss my husband's 80th birthday!

Trip reports may be a bit delayed.

We think he wants Maverick to take his picture.
Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.
