Big Lake from it's outlet. June, last year.

I had to go walk on the giant slabs after seeing Harlen's trip report. This photo was taken from a spot about 1/2 mile due west of the outlet of Big Lake. It was a bit of an xc scramble to and from that end of Big Lake.
But all of the area on your map is beautiful too.

Aiden, my favorite campsite at Big Lake is on the Western Shore. It has great views to the East and easy access to the water. The campsite on the North side of the lake has a lot of deadfall and was burned out a few years back.

It looks like your night #1 is at Paiute Creek. The creek might be dry or just a stagnant pool. Cherry Creek in Louse Canyon may or may not be running also. Carry plenty of water between Grouse Lake and Big Lake.

Have fun!

Piute Creek on both the high trail and low trail had water last week. A bit more flow on the high trail.

Wow all these great pictires are gettitng me SO excited! Ideally we make it Rosasco for night one but I want to be realistic given short daylight and heavy winter gear. Although my 3 companions are all ROTC army kids and are used to long marches so we should be moving well. Thanks everyone!

TR coming soon!
