Kings Canyon bighorn closures?

For what it's worth, I reported a recent sighting (in an unexpected place) to the fish & game folks and got this as part of the response: "Also, the bighorn zoological area that you are referring to is obsolete. It ended up on a lot of maps years ago and should be removed. It does not have any significant biological relevance and is not valid." I think the "Zoological Area" was drawn as the limits of the closure, and the fact that it's obsolete now reinforces the closure being obsolete. I also asked the permit rangers about it since I was planning to tag a couple summits in the area and they had never heard of it.
