Having done many of the backpacking trips in the Sierras north of Big Pine in the last few years, I am now turning my attention to South of Big Pine.
My first time in this area will be Meysan Lake this weekend and was wondering if anyone has been there recently and can report on conditions? Much appreciated!

Re: Meysan Lake
Reported on 6/18 on SNCC-TPP by Evan Thomas:
Some photos from Meysan Lakes general area. Mosquitoes were out, swarming some in the morning and evening. Little bit of DEET did the trick. Still snow in the chutes leading to the plateau of LeConte and Mallory, but looked covered in debris tracks. NE ridge of Irvine was dry and very enjoyable right now.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Re: Meysan Lake
Thank you so much! Looks absolutely beautiful.
I was up in Lee Vining for a mountaineering course put on by REI/Eastern Sierra Mountain Guides last weekend and it was very hot and dry in the 20 Lakes Basin area. Rush Creek Trail also kicked my butt due to the heat and I should probably get on this one pretty early. Looks very exposed.
