Hi everyone,
I'm trying to decide where to go for an overnighter this weekend (9/23-24)...thinking either Sawtooth Peak out of Mineral King in SEKI or Little Lakes Valley to Treasure Lakes & Mount Dade. Does anyone have recent condition reports for either? Specifically:
-What are the conditions of Hourglass Couloir going up to Mt Dade? I have microspikes but no ice ax and I'm not comfortable with steep snow climbing/traversing. Is it possible to mostly avoid snow and summit via the class 2 route?
-Anyone been up to Sawtooth Pass or Sawtooth Peak recently? What are the conditions like?
-Is there anywhere on or near the summit of Sawtooth Peak to wedge a sleeping pad and spend the night? I'd love to be up there for sunset & sunrise.
Thanks in advance!
