Trip suggestion for late September this year

Hello,

I'm planning a backpacking trip for myself and 4 others this weekend (9/22-9/25) - all level 3/4. We're traveling from Oakland, CA and would like to go to the Sierras, preferably less than 4 hour drive.

Any suggestions for a 25-30 loop in one of these wildernesses: Desolation (I've been twice and loved it - somewhere comparable?), Emigrant, Mokelumne, or Hoover (worth the extra drive?). Where would be experience the best weather?

Would like to fish, visit alpine lakes, stay above 30 degrees at night, and prefer a moderate hike.
