Need help getting to Rae Lakes trailhead without car

Hi forum!

We're leaving for San Francisco in 4 days and are in the final stages of planning our Rae Lakes loop hike. It seemed like the best option: 5 days, some short hikes leaving from the same trailhead,...

As I mentioned, we'll be staying in San Francisco. We were looking into public transport and are kind of getting stuck in Fresno (by Greyhound).

Ideally, we'd need to get to the Copper Creek trailhead, but Cedar Grove would be a nice start. Any ideas on:
- busses, shuttles,...
- the changes of hitchhiking to that trailhead?

There should still be a shuttle to Grant Grove in Kings, but getting down the valley will be an issue.

AND after looking into it, it looks like that is no longer in service. You may have to post in the transportation forum here to see if you can hit a ride. But renting a car looks like the only other option

What day were you trying to get down there? May be able to help if it's Friday the 15th.
