Just spent a couple nights by the Little Kern River from Click's Creek TH. Most of the mosquitoes were in the meadows along the trail but down by the river didn't run into too many.
On the trail by meadow: 2
Else where on the trail: 1
Little Kern River: 0

Spent the weekend clearing downed trees and chopping waterbars in Dinkey. Mosquitoes were starting to be interested in biting -- maybe a 1, in the morning and evening. During the day they were present in forested areas when the breeze died down. Not so much in the open sun. A dab of DEET here and there did the trick.
No mosquitoes till about 9000'
9000' - 2
9300 to 9800' - 3 and looking for blood.
Above 10000'- 0 with not even one seen.
Lots of standing water and should hit soon. Still freezing at night above 10500' with ice on all standing water in AM.
Glen Alpine Creek drainage June 18 65.5k to 8.5k. Weather chilly, cloudy, very windy, no mosquitoes. June 19 light breezes, mosquitoes 1 most areas and 2 in the considerable areas of standing water. Suspect there are many more in the zone that were hunkered down due to several days of foul weather. Thus with this week's warm fair weather will bring many out with a lot of new squeets hatching.
