Confirmed Weather

Fellow Members,

Thanks to a fellow member who was out at the same time Larry was (but exited Sun) and just north of his area, I have been able to confirm (visually) that there were
definite signals of this weather system moving in earlier than the expected Wednesday which was originally forecasted and what Larry was aware of at the time of his
departure.
These Whitney webcam videos also confirm the increasing clouds starting to amass by Sun at around 3 pm, the second video from Mon is quite eye opening and shows how someone experienced or not could find themselves in a very difficult situation, especially when not expecting it. The Taboose Pass area was even more socked in by Saturday and Sunday from the information/photos received.

Cut Off Dates

Fellow Members and Non Members,

Some members recently PM me asking if it was to late to volunteer in the search, no it is not, we need as many experienced searchers as we can there is no such thing as to many searchers. Some have asked if they can bring along family or friends, please do as long as they are experienced backpackers also. This will be a great example of the compassion we have for one another here
on HST, and for our fellow human beings. No one will be denied participation in such a meaningful endeavor.
We will be allowing folks to come on board till 7/15, this allows everyone an opportunity to make up there minds and/or figure out there time off of work situation.

Updates as of 3/19/13:

Here is a Google Earth Snapshot of the areas roughly that are of interest based on Larry's profile, TR's, and interviews with friends and family members.
Areas in red are of the highest priority, yellow is next, and green are the least, but are still areas of interest, this info has been passed on to SEKI NPS.
http://wildernessapertures.com/img/s2/v ... 6480-6.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Working with SEKI NPS on getting the waiver on the quotas for Taboose during the time of our search.

- SEKI SAR will be conducting a search again prior to our search date, so we will share data, and may have to update our search areas on this current map after talking with SEKI and taking into consideration the areas they
have searched.

We should know something more definite in about a month, will keep everyone updated as soon as SEKI passes on any new information.
