Great trip report. I hiked the JMT in July, 1975. I was 16. Maybe we crossed paths.

Could be -- I spent most of that summer up there. If you have any photos from your trip as a 16-year-old, scan them and post them here -- I'd love to see them. On the companion trip report to this one (three weeks later that summer), I was with my 16 year-old brother. We spent time in the Kaweah's, and in the area around Forester Pass.

Wow! I never get tired of trip reports for this area.
I did it in August 1996 when there was less snow but still plenty of challenges.
