I like to bring a lot of liquid comfort beverages.

Sometimes, it's just the Vietnamese coffee (all-in-one) packets for my morning start-up.

Other times (or in addition), there's bringing a good dry red wine to enjoy with dinner. I usually pour it into a Platypus container to save myself from having to heft the glass weight.

If I'm on a weeklong trip, I might skip the wine and just bring some flavored vodka, single malt scotch, or port wine to have with chocolate in the evening after dinner.posting.php?mode=reply&f=26&t=3952#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

A buddy of mine brought along some of these on a recent trip & I was impressed.
We just used a miniature grate with some twigs underneath & a small percolator.
sometimes I bring along some J. Daniels or some Brandy & drink it straight.
& always try & bring along some chocolate bars.
One time I brought a bottle of wine & the weather was extremely hot so I stuffed the
bottle of wine into a glacier up on Bishop pass to chill it. the plan was to have some chilled
wine on the last day of the trip while heading back over Bishop pass, Problem was....I
ended up changing my plans & ended up hiking out at Lamarck Col instead of returning
back through Bishop pass, Some lucky SOB probably really enjoyed that wine, & I
congratulate them! I hope they packed out the bottle.

I carry a french press that fits into a Nalgene bottle, and brew a strong Cuban roast. I recently tested the Starbucks VIA Italian roast and was very impressed. If it wasn't so expensive I might change my ways.

For an evening night cap, I enjoy a good single malt Irish whiskey or a cognac, carried in an MSR fuel bottle.

Good container choice: highly flammable liquids!
