Koip Peak Pass conditions

I have a trip planned that'll cross Koip Peak pass on Aug 3rd. This year there will of course be snow, and I have read that Koip Pass in snow can be particularly hazardous owing to cliffs just below the route, which traverses a 60 degree slope. Has anyone hiked Koip Pass this summer, and what do you report? I'll be guiding my young adult daughter, who is game but not snow experienced; we will not have crampons. How hazardous will Koip Pass be? Thanks for any advice on conditions.

Also, there's nothing close to 60 degrees around Koip Peak pass... where'd you read that info? You talking about Kuna Peak?
