How do you plan to get to Mammoth if/when Bear Creek and Mono Creek are impassible?

Plan A is to cross @ dawn at peak ebb. I will check with the ranger first to see if any PCT hikers have been making it through. If it's no go, then I can do another section hike.

I will be leaving my car @ the N lake TH and hitching/taking an Uber back. If the initial trail intelligence is that people are making it through, but I get stuck as conditions change, then plan B would be to just turn around and hike back out.

Hi Mav,
When did you first hit snow on the way up and could you see open dirt on the other side (ie., anywhere along Piute Creek or down toward Pilot Knob)? Well, no problem chilling one's beverages!

Yes please, a few more details re. the snow level. When did the snow begin Maverick? We are wondering if it's worth bringing our sled to ferry the load. Will we be skiing from the TH, or carrying everything part way to the pass? Thanks a lot- the folks at the Inyo office had zero information today- they didn't even know whether the road to North Lake is clear yet?!
