Sierra NF:
Snow Survey -
Most of the April 1 snow survey results are in for this month. We are looking exceptionally well for the month. The results are below.

Snow Survey
• Kings River Watershed = 183% of normal
• San Joaquin River Watershed = 179% of normal

Precipitation
• Tulare Lake Basin = 43.2 inches (average 29.3)
• San Joaquin Basin = 64.9 inches (average 40.8)

I am sure many of you have heard of our snow and water in the News. April 1 is the important date for the State as their water allocations to various parts of the land are determined at this time. However, for us on the Forest I encourage you to follow up on the May survey. It is the last snow survey of the year and will let us know how to plan for summer activities, whether it be recreational or landscape management activities.
