Going back to the original topic, this is worrisome news. Why, one might ask. Firstly, this isn't much above normal in a water starved state. Secondly, this is the largest El Nino on record. Much larger snow packs have come from El Ninos considerably weaker than this one. Thirdly, the El Nino was predicted to fade away by some point in February. IDK if is this is still true, but if it fades and the precipitation suddenly drops off, we could still wind up below normal for the season. Most reservoirs are still below normal. The big question is, with El Nino gone, will weather patterns stabilize, or will we slip right back into the drought?
