trailcooking.com has a lot of starter recipes.

I'm in the process of coming up with a menu for six days from her two books and her website. Most things are grocery store items, and what you can't get there, you can get at minimus.biz or packitgourmet.com in the grocery section.

when hiking alone, I eat out of the small jetboil pot. I use an ebay sourced titanium spork and a titanium coffee mug. The mug serves as second pot if I need to heat up gravy or something other that can't be all in the same pot.

when hiking with my son, I use a big Jetboil Sumo pot to cook in, plus those nifty sumo plates with cozies that fit inside so we don't have to eat out of that deep pot together. I hate doing mountain dishes, so sometimes when things get real messy (freeze dried lasagna...) we still will just eat straight out of the pot.
