Owens Valley & High Sierra Forecast
Fort Independence EPA Met Station
EPA Site No: 06-027-1028

All:

Short Term…An upper ridge will continue over our area today through Saturday. This will create ideal weather conditions with warm days, cool evenings and light breezes. Some afternoon cumulus can be expected in the High Country. The Owens Valley will have daytime temps in the mid to upper 80s and evening temps in the mid to upper 40s. The High country will see evening temps in the upper 30s and daytime temps in the very low 70s.

Long Term…Sunday becomes a transition day as October begins. The upper ridge moves east and a Pacific trough moves onshore in central California. This invading trough will bring cooler temps and varying amounts of high clouds to the Valley and possible T-storm activity in the High Country. By Monday, the chance of rain and T-storm activity increases over the Sierra Crest and High Country. Winds will be out of the southwest with breezy conditions in the afternoon though out the forecast period.

Thanks for your temp updates, they assist with making my forecast as accurate as possible. If they come in on a timely fashion, I may use some of the data in my weather forecast.

Hi Dennis,
I get home late Sunday, so I will post updates from the weekend at that time. :)
