Congrats! Some day you may be a grandparent, and do it all over again! There were a few days along the way that I wondered if it was worth it, but now that they are grown up and have kids of their own, all the sleepness nights definitely were worth it.

My kids are in their early teens, so I have many of those days. I tell them that if I had my way, abortion would be legal from inception to age 18 :unibrow: In my heart, I've never regretted having kids, but I wish I'd done it sooner. We started when I was 36 and my wife was 38. I thought older and wiser was a good thing. But I soon realized that there was something to be said about being young, dumb and full of energy. Now that we're in our 50's, most of our friends are empty nesters or approaching that stage while we're in the worst of the teen years wondering if we'll ever have our own life again. At one time, I had a daughter in puberty and a wife starting menopause. My son and I did a lot of back yard camping during those times.

Sounds familiar, although we waited for other reasons.

First time dad you say?
I have two sons in college,
GB has fishing kids (girls) as he oft mentions them fondly...
Russ has dogs and horses, and with his attitude...doubtful,
OldRanger is just too old, (I wonder how he even got a vote?)
leaving...

Well done secret dad! =D>
Glad you caught the sarcasm in the poll. :p

Congratulations! I might be joining the ranks as a new dad one of these days, I am 35, and never really wanted to be a father until these last couple years. Me and my significant other are discussing it.

My uncle had twins at 51 so it's not too late until it's too late. :p
