Mono Lake, pre-dawn late June 1989

Image

same place, same day a few hours earlier under a near full moon

Pre sunrise, Lee Vining Park, some early June day in 1988 after an early morning wake-up call from the park sprinkler system (that was when the the Greyhound from Lone Pine dropped you off at 2am and you had to spend the night to catch the Yosemite Bus around 10:30am)

Post sunset, somewhere between the two Palisade Lakes, around 8:45pm, July 1990

all images are probably on Fuji RD 100, which was the standard slide film they sold at that time.

After sunset, Bighorn Plateau, July 1990

How about an after sunset shot during a near full moon night Aug. 1? This was in the meadow down stream from South Fork lake in the Cottonwood Basin.

Hi SM

Nice photo.
How was the smoke from the fire during your trip?

For this trip ( 8-27) the smoke wasn't too bad in the mornings and got a bit worse in the afternoons. Last weekend (9-04) was really clear. I'm glad 120 is open and I don't have to drive around the world to get to Tuolumne. 2 more trips to go and then I'll be ready to do nothing for awhile.... until I go back to my indoor job in Oct. ](*,)

Thanks SM.
What areas are the other two trips taking you?
