Thanks again, everyone!

@Wandering Daisy, dropping down to Big Bird Lake is on my to-do list. At the time I made the decision to change course I was already below Elizabeth Pass. Next time!

I was really hoping you would report tolerable bug pressure around Silliman and the Tablelands but looks like I’ll be dragging the whole tent along on my trip this week after all!

Fantastic images! I like so many of them, but your last 5 shots are so fine, they are the ones I am thinking of still. What a nice long trip you did- congratulations. You were solo I pressume? I have a question about that interesting area you call "the slabs?" Is that on the route to Silliman Lake? I've never been in that area. Thanks, Ian.

@Harlen Thanks! Yes, I was solo. There is a use trail that I think goes intermittently all the way from Silliman Meadow to Silliman Lake, but to the north of that it's just huge medium-angle granite. I abandoned the trail and just headed straight up the last 1000 feet.

Fantastic trip report! I've been over a number of those sections and you bring back fond memories of earlier days. I am concerned about the mosquitoes nowadays because I am quite allergic to the latest small variety to show up here in the Central Valley.
