Hoping that the night before in Mammoth helps out with that. We were up at 10k ft last month and he definitely felt the altitude but didn't experience any issues.rsm333 wrote:This a very do-able hike and a great intro to the Eastern Sierra. I agree about camping at 1000 Island...climb up the short hill on the North side of the lake can camp up there...better views, fewer people.
