Sketchbook - 2015

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Sketchbook - 2015

Post by markskor »

Just returned - 2 months dirt bagging - both Sierra and Sawtooth.
When not fishing - (was unbelievable BTW),
Carried along a 10"/13", hard-cover, art sketchbook... good paper.
Using a limited 3 color palate, and waterpens...all backpack-able stuff.
Even though the best fishing trip ever, still somehow managed to fill up the book.
So without giving out plein air locations - (TRs to come) - for the next few days,
I present my sketchbook, my views/ places visited...in no particular order,
all done in pen and ink.

Nice work Mark. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in the Sierra.

Really nice pics!

The third one down looks like a list of hiker's trail names. True?

Mark, it was great meeting you at the TM Market picnic tables the other day and having a chance to chat it up for a bit, while we (the motley crew) were waiting for the shuttle. Plus, thanks much for sharing your summer 2015 sketchbook with me that day. The drawings are most definitely superb, what a summer!!!

Very nice Mark! I'm going to show them to my budding artist of a daughter. Something has to move her away from anime characters for a bit.

What medium are you using? I really like those. My limited artistic abilities cause me problems playing pictionary!
