HST, Day 2 – Bearpaw Meadow to Precipice Lake 6/18/15

Post by HikingGeek.com »

One of my toughest days ever on the trail, but also one of the most rewarding. I went from thinking "what the heck am I doing out here" to "wow, I can't wait to come back" in just a few minutes.

Details and full photo gallery (75 photos) is posted here:

Hey, I camped at exactly the same spot at Precipice Lake last year! But then there are not a lot to choose from. Great photos. I love the sunset photo of Precipice Lake. Yes it is a hard day - we did the day starting just short of Buck Creek. We had planned on camping at Hamilton Lake but got there early enough (and there were too many others there) to continue. Once you start up that trail there are few options and Precipice Lake is the only really reasonable campsite. I hope the rest of your trip is going well.

Thanks Daisy.

Do you remember how many campsites there are? I only saw enough space for a couple of tents, and maybe one more that could fit a bivy or a small 1 person tent. I have someone on facebook asking me about possible sites.
