thanks Maverick. think I will avoid Ritter pass, i don't want to carry my backpacking gear over that. I think ill just go around to norther glacier pass and camp over there and explore what i can from that side.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

I think i would like to go up the SE glacier route to ritter peak after looking at the route and since i am not going to go over ritter pass. Will there be plenty of snow that I am going to need ax and crampons? I would hate to bring them along and not need them. Hoping to get out in about 1.5 weeks as soon as i finish up a project that i am working on.

i cant seem to find dyke lake on the map. where is it?

Look S/W of Ritter pass you'll see some unnamed lakes there. You'll notice the creek flowing out of them is Dyke creek.
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.
