PCT North from Ebbets Pass

Post by cefire »

Took a quick hike north from Ebbets pass to the Pennsylvania drainage. Trail is cleared and no snow. Mosquitoes are out but not yet aggressive (during the day at least). Probably increasing intensity over the next few weeks...

Thanks for the update, any pic's? How are the wildflowers?

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Was thinking of visiting that zone on the coming weekend until the Washington Fire exploded. Jetstream forecasts shows a flow from due south Thursday thru Sunday with a circulating high centered about the 4-Corners. That will also bring up some monsoon conditions. At first likely to start more fires but potentially could put them out too.

Thanks for the bear report. Very very cool. Have not seen signs of bear in those areas for years. Good to hear ursus is continuing to expand into their former regions given a few decades now since they were too often shot.
