Sabrina Basin 6/6 - 6/8/15

Post by RoguePhotonic »

AlpineMike and I took a trip into Sabrina Basin to Hungry Packer Lake. We had intended to climb Mt. Wallace and Haeckel but the snow was too soft for it so we just hiked up to Echo Lake and around Moonlight Lake.

Really nice pictures Rogue.

Very nice Rogue! The water flow on Moonlight Falls looks quite low.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

We didn't enter the cirque to get a view of it but considering the conditions around Echo Lake I don't think it was necessary. Waist deep post holing waited on that climb!

Thanks for the picture tour. Good to see the stormy May weather has left reasonable amounts of snow up in those areas which ought make midsummer this droughty year in central eastern Sierra areas less an issue than it would have been. Fine area to base camp at. Usually camp out of the way at Pee Wee, home of a colony of pee loving marmots.
