markskor another year older

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

markskor another year older

Post by oldranger »

Happy birthday old fart! I can't believe I allow someone almost as old as me to accompany me in the backcountry. Still have visions of us ambling along the trail with a walker and some young ranger kicking us off the trail because of the wheels we need to keep on truckin.

Happy birthday! It looks like you might get to celebrate by playing in new snow.

It's interesting, when you're young, you need diapers and training wheels. When you're older, you get diapers and training wheels. :D
If you don't know where you're going, then any path will get you there.

Happy Birthday man who swims with trout. :)

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Thanks all - I have big plans for this season - (If I could ever remember what the heck they were...)
Probably celebrate with some new snow, another foot due here in Mammoth - was going to go fishing today but much too windy here now - sigh.
Did do my daily 5 - 6 mile hike at altitude - (getting summer ready)... school term ends June 2 - plan to be gone backpacking by June 3rd.
Tonight - will get up a few times in the middle of the night, just to pee and wander about the house aimlessly - as trying to be more like my good, (much older), hiking buddy Mike?
Thanks again to all -
Mark
