Forecast for Mammoth & the Owens Valley

Broadcast Times 12:30pm & 5:30pm M - F

The next wave of sub tropical moisture due over Mono County this morning. Change of snow today in Mammoth and the High Country with levels quite high at about 7,000 to 8,000 feet.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain this afternoon and evening. High temperatures are expected to be in the upper 50s with evening lows in the mid 30s. There will be a south wind 10 mph in the tonight.

Today for Mammoth: Mostly cloudy with a chance rain and snow. Snow level will be around 8,000 feet today lowering to 7,000 feet tonight. Highs will be in the mid 40s and lows in the lower 20s. Southwest wind 10 - 15 gusting to 30 in town and as much as 70 mph over the Crest.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain. Highs will be in the upper 50s and lows in the lower 30s. South wind 10 mph.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Rain and snow. Snow level will be around 7,500 feet. Highs will be in the low 40s and lows in the mid 20s. Southwest wind 10 - 15 and 70 mph over the Crest.

Still some uncertainty as to strength of the shortwave due in over the weekend. Still, I believe we have a good chance at snow for Saturday into Sunday in the High Country. However those snow levels are going to remain high at about 7,000 feet. Right now it looks like unsettled weather Monday and Tuesday with a slight chance of rain in the Owens Valley and snow showers in the High Country, then drying out on Wednesday.
