Our first two days on the slopes. Icy . . . I hiked in the Sun morning before riding. Monday it was windy and the lifts closed

Mammoth snowboarding

Monday was fun. Got first tracks of the season on one of the runs, but got kicked off when we tried for a second run.

Tuesday the lifts closed due to wind (I think Discovery chair was open).

Wednesday was a powder day! Great runs, but I tweaked my left leg behind the knee. Couldn't stand on it for about 5 min. Quit riding after 4.5 hrs to give it a rest.

Thursday was really cold and too crowded. We went home after a few hours to warm up and have lunch. Got back just as Chair 22 opened, and got some awesome runs down Avy 2 with Shifty.

Friday the lines were pretty bad so I quit early, plus I wanted to get ready for my drive to Death Valley after dinner.

New Year's Eve photo #23

I think i was demonstrating the crippling effect of a Nevado's Lemondrop Martini as I struck a pose to Madonna's Vouge!

No memory, no pain! Yikes!

Celebrating SnowDude and Skier's birthdays

PHOTOS: http://snownymph.smugmug.com/gallery/2443123#128135964

We snowboarded Saturday and Sunday, then took an extra day off for SnowDude's birthday.

Owens Peak photos were already posted on the "peakbagging" thread, but here it is again: http://snownymph.smugmug.com/gallery/2439699#127947721

Wow that first photo with Ritter, Banner, and the Minarets in the background is absolutely gorgeous. Taken from a lift? I've never skied at Mammoth -- obviously have to rectify that!
