Thanks SN. Yeah, Mormon was really wierd- it looked liked nothing but turned out to be really steep for most of the way. Strange illusion. Sorry I couldn't quite catch you driving up the rocks- I was too busy being nervous about it! Me and Norma need to take sedatives next time. Hahahahahahahahaaaaaa.

Nice shots. Loved the clouds in #34. Cool glyphs too. I can't wait to see some petroglyphs for myself.

I'm really glad you and John did Mormon that day. I can't imagine how it would have worked out with Tom's truck had John not been there to help.

Thanks Norma. The glyphs were cool. Sending some pics to my archeologist buddy and he usually has some interesting information for me. I'll let ya know. I did send him one photo via e mail (the one with me and the circle thingy) and he had this to say about it:

Those glyphs would be identified as examples of
what has been identified as Great Basin Abstract. glyphs of this type
are
not easily dated and their function has also been debated and remains
somewhat controversial.

Given the lack of heavy patination I would guess that this one in the
picture would date from ca. 3500 to 1000 years ago (before present).
Most
rock drawing peaked in production during that time.


I think he will have more info when I send him the rest. Some looked older.

I was glad we were there late, too, really glad we all got through without TOO much stress! John is a good problem solver and he's always determined. Good Karma for everybody. What a great group of folks that wknd- I had a blast.
