Backpacking Buddy

A forum to initiate member meet-up. Looking for a hiking/climbing/fishing/skiing/etc. partner, or are you planning a trip where you wouldn't mind having some company? Last minute invites can be just as fun as a well-planned group trip (sometimes even better) so don't be shy! And be sure to post a trip report to the appropriate forum when you get back.

Backpacking Buddy

Post by srfct »

I'm wondering if there is a place (website?)to meet someone to backpack with. I have a couple of friends who I have planned trips with the last couple of years only to have them flake at the last minute. I'm not real experienced and don't really want to hike alone. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

You can meet people here.

Where do you live and where do you want to go backpacking?

I live in southern california and am looking to do the Hoover Wilderness area. I'm into trout fishing so I like to do hikes that go to a lot of lakes.

how often do you want to hike
do you want to do dayhikes or multiday backpacks
how far would you be willing to drive to hike
range of hiking - hours, mileage and elevation gain

with this info it would be easier to answer
mountain hiking is addictive:
I can quit anytime I want - I just choose not to want

Hi!
Hoover Wilderness is pretty much in my "backyard" and I fish. How do you feel about dogs?
