Happy Birthday Eric!

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Happy birthday! With the great weather today and this weekend, I hope you take a break from HST and are able to get out and enjoy it.
I don’t need a goal destination. I need a destination that meets my goals.

Thanks, guys. Yes, the wife and I are going skydiving on Saturday and then spending some time in and around Stanislaus NF.

Another year Mark and I'll have crossed to that side of the hill. Hard to believe I started this website when I was fresh out of college, penniless and splitting time between backpacking the Sierra and chasing girls around Europe.

Happy Birthday Eric! No such thing as a hill, life gets only as good as we make it and allow it to be, it ain't
all about the mighty greenback either, IMO.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

"Can you read, Pooh?" Owl asked a little anxiously. So Owl wrote, and this is what he wrote:
HIPY PAPY BTHUTHDTH THUTHDA BTHUTHDY.
Pooh looked on admiringly.
"I'm just saying `A Happy Birthday'," said Owl carelessly.
"It's a nice long one," said Pooh, very much impressed.
"Well, actually, of course, I'm saying `A Very Happy Birthday with Love from Pooh'. Naturally it takes a good deal of pencil to say a long thing like that."

I'm hoping you and your wife actually landed back on Earth and didn't mysteriously end up missing the target. :)

Happy Bday!
