grazing fee increase

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

grazing fee increase

Before anyone starts ranting about livestock industry influence, agency malfeasance, or other such nonsense, remember the fee is derived from a formula established by Congress in 1978. There have been many changes in which party controlled Congress, the relative leanings of each party, and changes in the executive administration since. No one, not either party, has made any effort to alter the formula. The last time anyone halfheartedly raised the issue was Sec of Interior Bruce Babbitt in 1994 and the dems in Congress and the Clinton white house quickly squashed the proposal.

Outside of a few half-informed environmental activists and bloggers with an agenda, everyone is satisfied with the existing fee structure.

Any grazing land maps or collateral info on how much is made and what the money is then used for?
