Happy New Year my friends

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Same to you and others here at HST. This is such an awesome forum and I have enjoyed all the TR's and individual contributions and perspectives. Hope '15 allows enough time for each one of us to spend many a night under the Sierra stars.

Yep. We’re not big believers in making New Years’ resolutions. For one thing, if something is that important to us, we’ll try to work on it, no matter what the date. And if it’s not that important, tying it to a calendar isn’t likely to make it matter to us more.

But we do have one resolution we are going to follow in 2015…and follow it resolutely. We are going to make, and take, more time for ourselves. We are going to spend more time in the mountains, backpacking, and seeing the parts of the world that we love so much. We aren’t getting any younger, and there is no reason to wait. We don’t need more stuff. But we would like to have more fun!

Admittedly, others feel differently. And if you have one you’d like to share, we'd love to know about it.

Happy New Year to you all. And here's to a wet (I'll settle for average) January and February.

Happy New Year everyone. Best wishes for a great year in the High Sierra in 2015 for all of us.
Since my fishing (etc.) website is still down, you can be distracted by geology stuff at: http://www.fresnostate.edu/csm/ees/facu ... ayshi.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
