What do you do when the weather outside is frightful? Bagging a peak sounds like a good idea! Right?
We drove up to Spooner Summit this morning. We took the Tahoe Rim Trail south. At first the weather was a little foul.
And then it just got worst!
Travel along the trail was easy in spite of the fresh layer of snow.
After a few miles we left the trail and hiked cross country up to the summit.
The closer we got to the summit, the fast the wind howled.
The higher we got, the meaner the weather! This is the summit.
The views weren't that great, but I still got to view my lovely lady!
Thanks for reading our post!

Very cool Russ, thanks for posting this! Weather on the peak looks like fun.

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

Snowing on the Donner summit area right now after a night of rain. Did you find the register I think it is on the other point?
Awesome to get out on the crappy days though . Hope it snows enough to really go snowshoeing.
Thanks
don't remember it was cold that day also 11/14/14. Did Genoa that day, had the worst time going down the rocks as they were all covered in a very thin layer of ice! And boy do I need to do some trip reports...finding the roads to Siegel from the west is challenging since last years fire to say the least!Awesome to get out on the crappy days though . Hope it snows enough to really go snowshoeing.
Thanks
