Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Owens Valley / Mammoth Weather Forecast
Provided by Dennis Mattinson

The cold front we have talking about is due in today and still looks quite cold and rather dry. There should be some snow showers in mammoth and the High Country with the possibility of flurries in the Owens Valley. I expect only about 3 - 6 inches of snow in Mammoth by the weekend. Right now, the snow level looks to be around 5,000 feet. The coldest time period will be Friday into Saturday, with very cold temps continuing on through Tuesday.

Today for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly clear in the morning turning mostly cloudy in the afternoon/evening. 20% chance of snow showers tonight. High temps in the mid 40s and lows in the lower 20s. Northwest wind 10 - 15 mph.

Today for Mammoth: Cloudy, cold and windy. Scattered snow showers off/on during the day and night. West wind 20 - 30 gusting to 60 mph in town and 90 over the Crest. High temps in the mid 20s and lows down to -5 below zero.

Tomorrow for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly cloudy and colder. A slight chance of snow showers in the morning. Snow level will be at 5,000 feet. High temps in the mid 30s and lows in the single digits.

Tomorrow for Mammoth: Cloudy with a chance of scattered snow showers during the day. High temps in the low 20s and lows down to -10 below zero.
