Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Owens Valley / Mammoth Weather Forecast
Provided by Dennis Mattinson

Slight ridging over our area will create dry conditions with a sight warming trend until the next system brings cooler temps on Friday.

Wednesday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 50s / lows in the upper 20s. Light wind / NW 10 mph.

Wednesday for Mammoth: Partly cloudy with highs in the low 50s / lows in the low 20s. Wind / SW 10 – 15 G to 30 mph.

Thursday for Bishop & the Owens Valley: Mostly clear with highs in the upper 50s / lows in the mid 20s. Wind / W 10 – 15 mph.

Thursday for Mammoth: Partly cloudy with high temps in the low 50s / lows in the mid teens. Wind / SW 15 – 20 G to +50 mph over the Crest.

Models still agree that we have a potentially strong winter storm moving into California Saturday night through Monday. They do not agree on the trajectory of this storm. So, as of now it is still a bit too early to forecast exact storm track or amount of rain/snow coming into our area. Stay tuned for more updates.
