SouthForks Lake Trail at Cottonwood Lakes

Post by ucangler »

Greetings All,

I am leaving tomorrow morning at 4am to head to loan pine to get our reserved permits.
I was going over the map in the area and the map designates the South Fork Trail as unmaintained from South Fork Lakes to Horseshoe Meadows.

Does anyone know the condition of that trail? I was planning on doing the loop from HS meadow, to C.Lakes, to South Fork down to HS meadow.

Thanks

It was in great shape last July when a bunch of us went up for the July 1st golden trout opener. Very easy to follow until It just got a bit hard to find the trail as it went up the last little steep ridge just before the lower South Fork Lake.
Life is good. Eternal Life is better!

Greetings All,

Just an FYI, I just returned from the loop and used the South Forks Lake "unmaintained trail" on the return.

This trail is in good shape from start to finish. No bush whacking necessary.
