Oh gosh they didn't notify me! Had a fire that night at Sadler Lake. About 4 am the next morning it started raining and continued all am as we broke camp and hiked out. Finally stopped about noon.

I'm glad I didn't choose this year to learn how to fish.

Schmalz

I don't expect lake fishing will be seriously impacted.

Schmalz might have meant cooking the catch ala campfire.

I'd miss that too when below fireline and in a restriction.

Yes, my mistake on our nice fish-grilling fire somewhere in SNF on 6/27. My next trip in SNF will need to have some added creativity built in for stove top fish cooking--this also means eating less fish, or cooking it waves for this family of 4, given that I was barely able to fit the full dinner portion on my two folding grills.
Since my fishing (etc.) website is still down, you can be distracted by geology stuff at: http://www.fresnostate.edu/csm/ees/facu ... ayshi.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

GB, That won't be a problem. You can use the Markskor method of wrapping pieces in foil, or sectioning the fish to fit the pan. The fish night at the Chains come to mind and there were 6 of us; all fish cooked in a pan. 5 of us at Island where we did the same method. It's not as bad as it seems.

I don't really like the foil wrap thing, but Mark does and it is tasty. I like to put in sections, add spices, maybe a squeeze of orange or lemon, and then cook in the pan until done. Crispy skin as well. The sauce left behind in the pan can be used as a drizzle.

I still miss doing a whole fish in a coal pit until you can smell it's done.

Maybe next year.
