TITLE: Mt. Shasta

GENERAL OVERVIEW: Mount Shasta is the second highest peak in the Cascade Range. Mt. Shasta is huge with a greater volume than Mt. Rainier. Only a third of the over 15,000 summit attempts made each year are successful. Avalanche Gulch is the most popular and least difficult route. You will need an ice axe and crampons for all routes.

CLASS/DIFFICULTY: Difficulty Depends on the Route taken

LOCATION: Mt. Shasta Wilderness and a link to the location on the High Sierra Map

ELEVATION: 14,179 feet
