FORECAST 11.18.06

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

FORECAST 11.18.06

Owens Valley & High Country Forecast
Fort Independence EPA Met Station
EPA Site No: 06-027-1028
0830 PDT 18 Nov 2006

All:

Discussion: A few high clouds drifting over the Crest otherwise clear skies and mild temps in the Owens Valley. Upper ridge continuing to amplify for the next few days then an upper low near the Gulf of Alaska approaches the Pacific Northwest on Monday. Shortwave energy rotating around that low will cause temps to lower a bit starting on Monday.

Today: Clear and warmer than normal. Temps upper 60s low 70s / upper 30s.

Tomorrow: Continued clear skies. Temps low 70s / upper 30s

Outlook: Models still uncertain as to the amplitude of the trough passing through CA from Alaska. Temps will start lowering slightly on Monday and will be much closer to the norm by Friday. I am still forecasting mostly dry conditions thru Friday until models come into better agreement.
