Just what people hiking at high altitude need to keep their bodies alert and healthy, add a little freeze-dried powder to the water for instant rum or vodka. Gives new meaning to drinking the Kool Aid. I just had a vision of breakthrough like the ice sheet that just broke away and wiped everyone off the face of Everest a couple of days ago.

Yeah, I can definitely see some problems. We have all know bad things happen when people party to much at altitude. The nice thing is being able to have a cocktail with dinner.

The response is kind of interesting. Many of us take a flask or two of some thing, so to be able to lose 12 oz or more while backpacking actually seemed like a big break through.

Well considering my friend Derek brought 6 liters of Vodka with him last summer for a 14 day loop he could certainly shed some major pounds with it.

If it tastes as "good" as wine powder, I'll pass...

(they sell chablis and burgundy on Packit Gourmet - for cooking with.)

There is no problem that alcohol can't make worse.
