ouch. A topic that would be interesting to pursue....albeit not by hijacking this thread.

It is true that these rural communities in California can be pretty stifling on a number of levels...

One of my favorite camp sites is at the small tarn near Horse Creek Pass... And I think Jack Keruoac would agree with that :)
Spiller canyon is absolutely gorgeous! The view of Whorl is phenomenal!
