Photographer's Ephemeris (Navagation)

Post by maverick »

Posted this a ways back but thought some newer members who have since joined and
enjoy photography, and for those who may have never seen this before may also see
the usefulness of this great program.

How to use video's:

I don't give out specific route information, my belief is that it takes away from the whole adventure spirit of a trip, if you need every inch planned out, you'll have to get that from someone else.

I'll second that!!!! Awesome program... Works well on iPads as well.

I had great conditions with a moon set over Clyde Minaret from minaret lake and I was able to use this tool to determine when the next time would be for the similar conditions. Highly recommend!!

Exactly, it takes the guess work out, and allows the photographer to prepare a lot of
the details in advance and concentrate more on taking the shot.

I'll be trying to shoot the moonbow and then that. Going to be a long night in Yosemite.

I have this on my iphone and I typically load up where I will be camping right before a backpacking trip.

It's nice to be able to pull out the phone and see the info on the sun's trajectory along with the exact sunrise/sunset times while you are out in the backcountry. I look this stuff up ahead of time but being able to refresh is great.
