FORECAST 11.15.06

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Forecast: Owens Valley & Adjacent High Country
Fort Independence EPA Met Station
EPA Site No: 06-027-1028

All:

Discussion: Upper ridge builds in today with dry conditions. Weak shortwave will flatten the ridge somewhat on Friday, but continued dry conditions will prevail. Weak upper ridge reforms over the weekend with slightly warmer temps and continued dry conditions.

Today: Mostly sunny. Temps upper 60s / mid 30s. Wind S 10 mph.

Tomorrow: Clear skies continue. Temps mid 60s / mid 30s. Wind W 10 mph.

Outlook: Weak shortwave will pass to our north on Saturday with dry conditions continuing. Weak ridging will develop for the remainder of the weekend. Trough out of the Gulf of Alaska to pass to our north on Tuesday and right now there is a great deal of uncertainty over how much if any moisture will develop in our area.
