FYI - Mineral King Opening/Closing Dates for 2014

The Park Service now expects Mineral King facilities to open and close this year as shown:

Road: Open May 2, Close October 27

Atwell Mill Water: Open May 7, Close October 17
Silver City Water: Open May 14, Close October 15
Cold Springs Water: Open May 21, Close October 15
Atwell Mill Campground: Open May 21, Close October 15
Cold Springs Campground: Open May 30, Close October 15

It appears the memo had an error and the actual road opening date is May 21st, not May 2nd.

Too bad! It would have been nice to be able to get up there in early May, especially this year.

I too was hoping the original date was correct, "oh well".
