Tioga Webcam is Back!

Grab your bear can or camp chair, kick your feet up and chew the fat about anything Sierra Nevada related that doesn't quite fit in any of the other forums. Within reason, (and the HST rules and guidelines) this is also an anything goes forum. Tell stories, discuss wilderness issues, music, or whatever else the High Sierra stirs up in your mind.

Tioga Webcam is Back!

Post by BSquared »

Just checked it, and the weather looked right, the date was 11/03, and the time was 09:25, which was about three hours before I wrote this post. Glad to have it back! :righton:

But: Why's the flag at half-staff?

Thank you for the link to the Tioga Pass webcam. Hopefully it will stay operational longer then last year, when it went down after the first storm. It would be nice to be able to see first hand the snow melt.

Found this on the Yosemite news site regarding the flag:

Flags To Be Flown At Half Staff On Friday
“Lowering of Flags in Honor of Former NPS Director William J. Whalen”:
To honor the passing of former director William J. Whalen, all offices, parks, and regions, with the exception of the National Mall, should lower flags to half staff on Friday, November 3rd.
